Hunza Valley: Blossoms, Forts and the Karakoram

Hunza Valley is one of the most loved destinations of the north. Ringed by the Rakaposhi and Ultar Sar peaks, it is famous for its apricot orchards, clear rivers and warm hospitality. In spring the valley turns white and pink with blossom, and in autumn every tree glows golden.

Around Karimabad you can visit Baltit Fort and Altit Fort, walk the lanes of the UNESCO-awarded Ganish village, and watch the sunset over the mountains from Duiker viewpoint. A little further out wait Attabad Lake, the Hussaini suspension bridge, the Passu cones and the Khunjerab Pass on the Pak-China border.

Hunza is a place that slows you down. A cup of apricot tea, a view of the glaciers, and people who treat you like family. It is no surprise that most travellers call it the highlight of their journey.
